Editor's Note: When Boston Calling made its debut at City Hall Plaza in May 2013, the rains came down hard. Yesterday, on the first day of the expanded music festival's new location at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, there was a sense of deja vu. That didn't stop the music, however, as the rainy and cold afternoon and evening saw engaging sets from Chance The Rapper, Sigur Ros, Car Seat Headrest, Sylvan Esso, Boston's Vundabar, Migos, Mac DeMarco, Bon Iver, Deerhoof, Whitney, Francis & The Lights, Xylouris White, Lucy Dacus, and countless others. And hey, there's something special about watching Sigur Ros perform in the rain after dark. We like to call that combination of Hopelandic and cool New England mist an "Icelandic Kiss." Vanyaland's Eddy Leiva was in the muddle -- oops, middle -- of it all, snapping each of the performers over the course of Friday's slate (sans Bon Iver).
