What Studio 52 Says: Lady Pills are a great example of why we love the Boston music scene so much. Their raw, aggressive form of indie-rock burrows into your brain and vibrates your molars. Last year’s debut full-length Despite is the band at their very best — 11 tracks of honest lyrics and impassioned melodies that grab you and don’t let go. And Lady Pills have an expansive resume not many can boast: From Vanyaland SXSW spotlights, Boston Calling performances, nominations in last year’s Boston Music Awards, and more, they don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. Case in point, they’ll be taking the stage at this year’s renowned Lollapalooza festival in Chicago in August. If you can’t make the trek to the Windy City, though, don’t worry — catch Lady Pills with The Furs next Thursday night June 1 at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville for Born Without Bones’ album release. We’re positive the band will bring as much energy and heart as always.
