What Studio 52 Says: June 23 will mark the release of I am become Death long-awaited first full-length album. Titled Unfortunate Anthems & Songs of No Hope it’s the follow-up to the band’s 2014 self-titled EP, which remains a staple in the Boston hardcore scene. After taking a small break from touring, I am become Death are re-claiming their throne with a consistent live schedule and, of course, the new record. If it’s on track to be anything like their previous material, expect a distorted festival of hard-hitting and energetic, yet melodic, hardcore intertwined with sludgy guitar riffs and perfectly complementing vocals. Hopefully we’ll get a taste of the new jams tonight (May 19), when the band headlines a beefy and stacked line-up at O’Briens Pub in Allston. Catch them with Ugly, Laughing Stock, Ritual Blade, and D-sagawa; doors open at 8 p.m.
