Freshly Squeezed: The music-minded cast of ‘Twin Peaks’ to amplify the show’s return

Right around this time last year, the cast list for the new season of Twin Peaks dropped, and there were a shitload of surprising names on it, like Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, and Tim Roth. Plenty more will be making an appearance on the show, but what truly surprised us were the number of musicians on the cast list, and how odd and eclectic they were.

With Twin Peaks back in our lives this weekend, premiering Sunday (May 21) at 9 p.m. eastern on Showtime, we took a glimpse at the some of the cast and some tracks that we think you might enjoy if you’re in the mood for some Lynchian goodness.

Pro-tip, though: You might not want to watch this on your phone, lest you piss David Lynch himself off.

Eddie Vedder

It’s only fitting that a show set in the Pacific Northwest would feature an appearance by Eddie Vedder, who’s no stranger to acting himself. Hell, he appeared in Walk Hard, the aughts’ most underrated comedy, so we have to give him some props here. Here’s “Man of the Hour,” the song Pearl Jam did for the credits of Tim Burton’s Big Fish, which some purists will undoubtedly get mad at us for referring to in the same breath as God Emperor Lynch, but that was a swell movie and this is a swell song, so shut up about it.
