Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

When it comes to big-ticket festival announcements and buildup, there’s a frequent order of things: First, we find out who is playing. Then we find out on what day each band or artist is performing. Lastly, we find out the set times within each day, and the tradition of agonizing over conflicts throttles into high gear.

Welcome to the game, Boston Calling.

In recent years at City Hall Plaza, the fledging festival had no need to overlap performances over the course of its 20-something-performer bill. Now with an expanded lineup and more than 40 acts taking part over Memorial Day weekend, overlap was inevitable. And with the Spring 2017 edition kicking off two weeks from tomorrow at the Harvard Athletic Grounds, we now know who will be playing when, as the fest released a detailed schedule of set times.

Some of the biggest conflicts that jump out: Chance The Rapper and Sigur Ros co-headlning Friday, Solange and Mac Demarco overlapping a few hours earlier, the xx and 1975 partying at the same time on Saturday, and a Massachusetts guitar throwdown between Converge and Buffalo Tom on Sunday.

Seriously, why do Converge and Buffalo Tom need to play at the same time?

Other than that things look pretty clear. We don’t think Weezer and Major Lazer share any fans, so no worries there. Same with Brandi Carlisle and Danny Brown. Peep the full schedule below, note the earlier Friday start time (more bands, more hours), and in case you’re still wondering how to get to the new festival grounds, get some info on transportation here.

Oh, and if you’ve slept so far, fear not: Tickets to Boston Calling range from $99 to $999; get a full rundown of ticket prices and availability here.
