Last night at the Somerville ballroom and lounge, Carissa Johnson won the 2017 Rock And Roll Rumble, performing an energized set of pop-polished punk songs that could only be stopped by a rogue fire alarm. Spirited sets from The Rupert Selection and Hey Zeus made it a finale to remember, and Scott Murry was on-hand for Vanyaland to document the evening — the bands, the evacuation, and the booze-soaked crowning of Johnson as the new Rumble champion.
