So you’ve seen the pants-wettingly good new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and you’re probably wondering what all of it means. Well, luckily for you, we spent plenty of time reading Star Wars tie-in novels and visual guides (and also getting plenty of wedgies) in our youth and are here to break it down for you.

This just got real. Poe’s X-Wing fighter, codenamed “Black One” is engulfed in flames, presumably from a First Order attack. This seems to confirm that this is taking place on a Rebel transport of some sort (look at the hanger opening), and eagle-eyed nerds will notice the A-Wing fighters (!!!) all decked out in Resistance colors on either side of his craft. We’re going to scream for a bit, so join us on the next slide.
