Last time Boston had a close encounter with Will Ferrell, the former SNL comedian and movie star was at Emerson College, in character as the delightfully blundersome anchorman Ron Burgundy to promote Anchorman 2. This week, we won’t be getting Ferrell IRL, but perhaps the next best thing with the pop-up Stay Classy bar, a 10-day ode to all of Ferrell’s wonky characters at Umbria in downtown Boston.
The original Stay Classy bar, launched in New York City, is the work of the same people who created Manhattan’s Tim Burton-themed restaurant Beetle House, and while the NYC location is now closed, Boston gets a taste — literally and metaphorically — of the madness starting Friday (April 14) and running to 23.
Much like the bar’s sister restaurant Beetle House, Stay Classy will brim with punny cocktails and dinners, but if you’re not a huge Ferrell fan, then maybe a side of “Eat The Cat Poop” will be too much for you. The pop-up at Umbria marks the first Stay Classy appearance that features more than just drinks — both the NYC location and Los Angeles pop-up only offered cocktails.
Stay Classy is currently accepting reservations via their Facebook page. Additional details are below.
