We’re still pretty bummed out over next month’s Boston Calling Music Festival leaving City Hall Plaza for the greener pastures of Allston, but it appears the concrete jungle of Government Center won’t be totally bereft of tasty draws in the coming weeks. That’s because it looks like something called Boston Pizza Fest will be landing at City Hall over the course of two days, July 8 and 9, promising all sorts of stuff — but mainly pizza.
Because what else do you need?
Here’s the official word, though it seems like not much beyond this is known, even though the fest is about 12 weeks out:
“Boston Pizza Festival is a 2-day outdoor festival featuring live music, food and giveaways. Local and international vendors in the food industry will be there. Each pizza vendor will be selling their own product. Giving attendees the unique opportunity to try pizza from all over. Vendors will have a chance to enter and win ‘Boston Pizza Festival Pizza Champion’ contest.”
Good enough for us.
Hopefully the vendors include some of our favorites, like La Befana in Allston and Stoked Wood Fired Pizza in Brookline (also found on wheels at various parts of the city), but we’re sure it’s going to rule regardless of who is setting up shop at City Hall.
Tickets range from $15 for a single-day pass to $50 for VIP treatment, the latter of which includes “one hour early admission, access to VIP seating at pizza seminars, free sample sizes for first hour and VIP gift bag.” Get all the ticket info here.
