Editor’s Note: By now the French-pop cover stylings of Nouvelle Vague have taken on a life of their own. Olivier Libaux and Marc Collin’s Paris-based project has endured nearly 15 years by reimagining familiar classics, and the group — which features a rotating cast of singers, multi-instrumentalists and one thunderous bass drum — played Brighton Music Hall in Allston on Friday (March 24) in support of last year’s I Could Be Happy LP. Cuban-American singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Liset Alea opened the show. Scott Murry was in the room on behalf of Vanyaland, and you can view his full gallery of both performances below.
