Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.
Next week, as is Boston law, Dropkick Murphys take over the city for a few thousand sold out St. Patrick’s Day shows. Once that hangover subsides, Ken Casey and his Celtic punk gentlemen will be hitting the road for a co-headlining summer tour with Rancid.
The tour is dubbed “From Boston To Berkeley” (not that Berklee) and the first 12 stops — including an August 5 gig at the Brockton Fairgrounds — will feature Bouncing Souls and Jake Burns. Yes, a tour with “Boston” in the title doesn’t even play Boston. Thanks, Obama.
The rest of the tour, as it canvasses North America out to the West Coast, will bring along The Selector and Kevin Seconds. It does, in case you were wondering, hit Berkeley for an August 20 show at the Greek.
Consequence of Sound cites a press release that states that at the end of each show, both Rancid and Dropkick Murphys will appear “on stage together for a joint encore.”
