Hacked: Coachella alerts website users of significant data breach

Publicity

While rumors fly about Daft Punk or Lady Gaga potentially replacing Beyoncé at this spring’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival, the fest has been forced to deal with another unforeseen issue: Hackers.

Coachella sent out an email Tuesday afternoon stating that it “recently discovered that unauthorized third parties illegally gained access to the usernames, first and last names, shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth individuals provided to Coachella. We have confirmed that no user passwords were stolen.”

The fest stressed that “no financial information was accessed and, there is no indication that customer financial information has been disclosed. We have taken measures to block further unauthorized access, and reported the matter to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.”

Those with further questions are asked to email info@coachella.com.

The 2017 edition of Coachella goes down the weekends of April 14 to 16 and 21 to 23, with headliners Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar. Last week, Beyoncé withdrew from the fest on doctors orders due to her pregnancy.
