Following Adele is no easy task, but that’s what The Weeknd and Daft Punk were faced with this evening at the 2017 GRAMMYS in Los Angeles. Introduced by Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris, who spoke out against the Dakota Access Pipeline, the collaborating trio busted out “I Feel It Coming” and a bit of “Starboy”, livening up a broadcast that immediately started to lag. But that’s nothing a bunch of lighting and beats can’t fix.
The Daft Punk appearance was Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s first live performance since the Grammys three years ago. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait until 2020 to see the robots again.
