Last week we were treated to the spectacular recorded return of Slowdive, who crashed our playlists with “Star Roving”, the shoegaze band’s first new song in more than two decades. Now it looks like the group will be back on our side of the Atlantic for a handful of shows before their massive appearance at London’s Field Day in June.
We’re serious: “We’re delighted to return to North America for some shows this coming May,” the Slowdive write.
Joining Slowdive on their five-date jaunt is Oregon experimental pop project Japanese Breakfast, whose record Psychopomp was one of our faves of 2016 (go listen to “Everybody Wants to Love You”).
The bad news, at least for us in New England, is that there is no Boston or Cambridge date. Slowdive played Royale back in October 2014.
Tickets to the shows listed below go on sale Friday (January 27). Score ticket links here.
