Vanyaland Holiday Gift Guide: What to buy the music lover in your life

There are 10 days until Christmas, which means there are only approximately 9.6 shopping days left in the holiday season. Chances are you've locked down your shopping list and you've got it all sorted out (congratulations!), but if you're like us, you've still got some shopping left to do. So Michael Christopher and Michael Marotta of Vanyaland put their Michaelness together to whip up a 2016 Holiday Gift Guide, geared towards the music lover in your life. Yeah yeah, we know, we should have published this shit right after Thanksgiving (turns out we're as tardy with our publishing as we are with our shopping). But we live in the age of expedited shipping, so buck up, order some of the goods below, or use it as a template as you venture into the commercial brick and mortar war zones this weekend.

God Save Sex Pistols

Last month was the 40th anniversary of the Sex Pistols incendiary debut single, “Anarchy in the U.K.,” and along with the celebration comes God Save Sex Pistols, a coffee table book full of never-before-seen photographs of the band, images of concert tickets and fanzines, and handwritten letters from Pistols’ manager Malcolm McLaren. The comprehensive pictorial history also comes in a deluxe edition, wrapped in a bondage-style rubber casing, and a companion book full of press clippings. Then there’s the $650 ultra-deluxe edition that includes, among a host of other goodies, a stainless steel stand fashioned to look like a safety pin. And who says punk and commerce don’t mix?

$65.00, available at Rizzoli New York; $160 Deluxe Edition, available at Outpost; $650 Ultra Deluxe Edition, available at Outpost.
