There are just a handful of dates remaining on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s ‘Summer’s Over’ tour, and they will go on without Chicago R&B singer and co-headliner Jeremih.
Live Nation, in a statement, say Jeremih was removed from the tour after “multiple incidents”.
Things got weird last week when, according to Noisey, the “Birthday Sex” performer walked off stage just three songs into a Chicago homecoming performance, allegedly dropping his mic and swearing at the crowd. Jeremih claims he was upset because promoters shortened his set: “Truth is ‘they’ didnt want me 2 perform tonight,” he tweeted. “[I]t sad people will take ur money and blatantly make it seem like I only want to do 2 songs”.
But things got remarkably stranger on Thursday night, when fans at his show in Houston claim Jeremih didn’t even show up, instead sending out a “stunt double” to perform. The unidentified culprit wore a hoodie the entire time and appeared to be lip-synching as he tried to hype up the baffled crowd. Video is below.
On Friday in Dallas, Jeremih apparently called PARTYNEXTDOOR out on stage. Via Pitchfork: “Dallas I love y’all. All my fans, I love y’all. PARTYNEXTDOOR and his crew are some bitch ass niggas. Now tell me that. Tell me what I said now?… y’all better scream for PARTYNEXTDOOR now. Tell him to pay that fake-ass budget they’ve been pressing at night.”
Unsurprisingly, Jeremih has been booted from the ‘Summer’s Over’ tour, which recently played Worcester’s Palladium last month. Here’s the statement from promoter Live Nation:
“Live Nation’s top priority is helping artists and performers create great shows for their fans,” it writes. “With this in mind, we’ve decided it’s best for the Summer’s Over tour to continue without Jeremih, effective immediately. After multiple incidents we are left with no other choice. We do not support these actions or take these actions lightly. Ticketholders may request a full refund at point of purchase, which will forfeit access to the entire show. No partial refunds will be issued.”
Crazy shit.
