Livin’ On The End: Aerosmith announce 17 dates of ‘Aero-Vederci Baby!’ farewell tour

After nearly five decades and more than 100 million albums sold, the end is apparently near for Aerosmith.

The legendary Boston band this morning announced the first leg of their “Aero-Vederci Baby!” tour, a 17-date run of Europe that starts May 17 in Israel, hits a few big-ticket festivals, and wraps July 5 in Switzerland. Frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry delivered the news as fake newsman in the Aerosmith News Network video below.

“It’s been three years since we have been on tour in Europe and I can speak for my brothers that we can’t wait to get over there and take it up a few notches,” says Perry in the press announcement. “Last tour in South America we were running on all cylinders and I can see no reason to let up now.” Adds Tyler: “Aerosmith just got done ripping through South America like true ambassadors of rock. The band is unstoppable right now and in Europe, we’re going to keep doing what we do best. Let the music do the talking, “Livin’ On The Edge”, and living to rock another day.”

This year rumors have swirled about the band’s future, as Tyler has embarked on a solo career, Perry has toured with Hollywood Vampires, and the other guys have developed their own businesses, bands, and interests. In June, Tyler confirmed that Aerosmith were spending 2017 in “farewell” mode, so we’ll see what’s planned for North America and, particularly, here in Boston.

Check the full dates of the European leg after the video jump.
