Now that the reality of a Donald Trump presidency has set in, many in the global music community are starting to react with creativity. That’s also the case here in Boston, where the election day results inspired Dutch ReBelle to drop a new track called “Not Sleeping.”
The fresh cut samples Ellie Goulding’s “Lights”, was produced by Quisington and the Arcitype, and you can bump it via the Soundcloud embed below.
“Felt appropriate to drop this today,” Dutch writes on Instagram. Elsewhere online, she states that “President Voldemort got me in my feelings,” that and “[t]oday felt right to drop some new music.”
We’re glad she did.
This track also features unity between two artists nominated in the 2016 Boston Music Awards. Dutch ReBelle is nominated for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, while the Arcitype is up for Studio Producer of the Year.
