Halloween 2016: Six sick parties and shows tonight to keep the spooky season alive

You may have heard the news: Halloween is not over. While most people got their spooky groove on over the weekend at parties all around New England, the calendar reminds us today that October and her devious ways have work left to be done. As children of all ages hit the streets this afternoon in search of free candy, ample treats for adults remain within some of Boston and Cambridge's finest venues, one final blast of costumed revelry for those who want to wear that Tina Belcher get-up out in public one last time and drunkenly touch a few butts (consensually, of course) before November's coming fire arrives tomorrow morning. If you missed out on any of the parties we hyped over the weekend, in both the Boston area and down in Providence, fear not, as we provide six additional options this evening, fit for a Halloween forever mindset.

Halloween Bash with Cocaine Tongue and Everything Dies at Opus

Look, Salem is a complete shit show right now. We don’t really advise heading up there tonight, but for those already in Salem (either as a resident or someone who has just camped out at the Witch House for the past month), you can do worse than enjoying Guns N’ Roses and Type O Negative cover bands on Halloween night. That’s what Opus, which has been crushing it with local shows lately, is delivering on their most crazed night of the year, as Cocaine Tongue and Everything Dies, respectively, bring you the familiar sounds of time-honored favorites. If you didn’t want to spend a million bucks seeing GnR this summer, or you missed Type O before Peter Steele tragic 2010 death), then this is a nice alternative for the chaos that will be unfolding in nearby Derby Square.

87 Washington St. in Salem :: 9 p.m. :: 21-plus :: $20 in advance and $30 at the door :: Advance tickets :: Facebook event page
