Halloween 2016: Six sick parties and shows tonight to keep the spooky season alive

You may have heard the news: Halloween is not over. While most people got their spooky groove on over the weekend at parties all around New England, the calendar reminds us today that October and her devious ways have work left to be done. As children of all ages hit the streets this afternoon in search of free candy, ample treats for adults remain within some of Boston and Cambridge's finest venues, one final blast of costumed revelry for those who want to wear that Tina Belcher get-up out in public one last time and drunkenly touch a few butts (consensually, of course) before November's coming fire arrives tomorrow morning. If you missed out on any of the parties we hyped over the weekend, in both the Boston area and down in Providence, fear not, as we provide six additional options this evening, fit for a Halloween forever mindset.

Electric Street Queens’ Rad Castle Halloween Freak-Out Party at Zuzu

If you thought all the Halloween cover shows were dunzo, think again: The ongoing Rad Castle series gets busy tonight with an intriguing lineup of Boston-style hero worship, and it won’t cost you a bloody penny to enter and party with the crew. Certain to turn the intimate ZuZu into a sweat box of beautiful horror are Electric Street Queens performing songs by both Motorhead and the Runaways (maybe Katya will show up), Beach Toys as the Velvet Underground, Creaturos as the Stooges, and Even Frankenstein getting all kinds of Halloween real with a set as the Shaggs. Writes Rad Castle peoples: “It’s that time of year again to drink beer in costumes while yr friends play hastily rehearsed tunes by yr favorite bands!” Cool.
