Over the next few days in Providence, the city's music venues will be having a few tricks in store along with a handful of treats. With Halloween happening this Monday, there will be a series of parties happening throughout the Creative Capital to ring in All Hallow's Eve. There will be a variety of things to experience including local bands performing as their rock and roll heroes, festivals taking place at different locations and extravaganzas where costumes are the recommended choice of attire. Candy will be at the bar and drinks will be slung, perhaps a rejoicing of the season will be taking place as well. To get you in the mood, here are five Halloween-themed shows that'll be taking place in Providence over the next few days.
October 29: Halloween Covers Night at Dusk
Boston live music fanatics know a thing or two about local bands doing a night of covers by a legendary band for Halloween. In Providence, a few bands are putting their own spin on things for a night of impersonations at Dusk. Glam metal maniacs Teazer are going to be performing the songs of Van Halen, hardcore punks Ratstab will be doing their take on the stylings of Shitlickers, Discharge and others, fuzz metal juggernauts Corot will be doing interesting renditions of ZZ Top and noise aggressors Lvmmvx will be resonating the songs of Swans. The volume will be turned up to the max and pandemonium will fill the room. It’ll be worth it as people in ridiculous costumes will be acting crazy due to what’s happening on stage.
