Editor's Note: By now we know the deal: Preoccupations used to be called Viet Cong, but they changed their name earlier this year because some didn't like the idea of a Canadian post-punk band appropriating that kind of moniker. On the other hand, Methyl Ethel used to be called Methyl Ethel, and the Australian dream-pop-psych-whatever band kept their name because that moniker kind of rules. Together, the two sent a jolt through the Sinclair last night, delivering some guitar-rock fever within the Harvard Square rock club, and Ben Stas was on hand for Vanyaland to capture all the dudes in action.
