In a few weeks, Radiohead headline the 2016 edition of Austin City Limits alongside Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, and Mumford & Sons. This morning we jumped on Kayak.com to see how much it would cost to roll down all last-minute-like to the Texan capital in time for Radiohead’s October 7 performance, and we’re looking at around $400 to fly into Austin–Bergstrom International Airport.
If that’s not in the budget, or if you’re even shorter on time, Thunder Road Music Club & Rock ‘N’ Roll Bistro is bringing the show directly to Somerville. The Union Square live music venue will live stream Radiohead’s performance on October 7, and it’ll only cost you a few bucks to watch it all go down.
“We’ll be tied directly into the camera feed + board mix at Austin City Limits,” the venue writes. “Radiohead will be performing from 9 to 11 p.m., followed by a very special late night set featuring Madaila.”
That Madaila in question is the Burlington, Vermont-based psych-pop band that should provide a cool nightcap to whatever Thom Yorke and company deliver down in Texas. Check out Madaila’s 2015 single “I Know” below, and get visual info on the party via the flyer.
