Look, we are really obsessed with Springtime Carnivore’s recent single “Face In The Moon.” It’ll likely show up in the Top 3 of this writer’s Best of 2016 list, jostling the medal platform alongside stellar entries from Party Bois and Kristin Kontrol. It’s on constant repeat here at Vanya HQ, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
But today we’ll hit pause to dive into another track from Springtime Carnivore’s upcoming record, Midnight Room, which hits October 7 via Autumn Tone Records. It’s called “Raised By Wolves”, and it’s an autumn-toned bliss-pop swinger that’s a nice companion piece to the prior single. The track once again showcases the honey-well voice of Springtime Carnivore’s Greta Morgan, whose storytelling lyrics and warm, throwback vocals create the foundation to what should be one incredible record.
In the meantime, Springtime Carnivore’s Midnight Room isn’t the only work of intrigue from Morgan these days, as her collaborative covers project with Katy Goodman of La Sera, titled Take It, It’s Yours, came out this past Friday. It features covers of punk classics from the Buzzcocks, Replacements, Misfits, and others. Goodman and Morgan hit the road for a 23-date North American tour this fall, and it hits the Brookline Teen Center on October 25.
