It’s been kind of crazy watching Two Door Cinema Club’s rise to fame and glory. Back in the spring of 2010 we caught them in a sweatbox at Great Scott in Allston, flexing out tunes from debut record Tourist History, and now later this year, the Irish modern indie band returns with arena aspirations, rolling down Commonwealth Avenue for a November 18 gig at Agganis Arena.
The date arrives just a month after the release of Two Door Cinema Club’s latest album, Gameshow.
And like the best gameshows, there will be a handful of worthy contestants up there on the Boston University stage, as joining Two Door Cinema Club for the local date are New Zealand alt-pop duo Broods (who we recently photographed at Royale) and homegrown synth-pop duo Magic Man.
To get properly primed for the gig, sample a few of our favorite tracks from all three groups, as well as Two Door Cinema Club’s latest single, “Are We Ready? (Wreck)”.
