They Give Out Trophies, Too: Here are the winners at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards

Pretty much everyone everywhere tonight is watching the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards (with a quick break in the middle to stay current on HBO's The Night Of). So far at the #VMAs, going down live at Madison Square Garden in New York City, it's been a pretty lackluster party.

Rihanna kicked things off with a greatest hits medley, which she may or may not have been actually singing, and she's expected to perform several more times before the night is over. And between and after other performances/appearances by Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Future, Diddy, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West, a bunch of Moonmen will be handed out for the best music videos of the past 12 months or so.

Because the action is flying fast down at MSG, and the live performances and spectacle usually swallows up the awards portion of the party, here's a recap of exactly who is nominated in all 17 categories. UPDATE 11:36 p.m. EST: And now this list is a recap of who has taken home a Moonman so far.

We'll try to update this post over the course of the evening by bolding the winners. In the meantime, stream the VMAs here.
