Sorry Gronk, but this has truly been the Summer of Smash Mouth.
First the ’90s hit-makers crashed our very own Outside The Box Music & Arts Festival with a headlining performance on Boston Common (disclosure: we were there; we enjoyed it, take it up with this guy: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).
Then, earlier this week, someone created a Vine mash-up with Donald Trump mouthing the opening lyrics to “All Star” — an effort worth its own post.
Now, and without any fair warning, Smash Mouth are apparently back with some new EDM collaboration with a DJ named Spector. Titled “Love Is A Soldier”, it’s a big-room, cover-your-drink-when-you’re-not-paying-attention nightclub jam fit for the sickest drop of 2012, and it boasts lyrics like “Sex is a gun and you’re ammunition/The battle’s on, submission demolition.”

We have no fucking idea if they played this at Outside The Box. But we don’t think they did, otherwise we may have woken up the next morning with achy knees and a clenched jawline.
