Today, Toronto electronic music duo MSTRKRFT return with their first new album in five years, titled Operator and out on Last Gang. That in and of itself is kind of surprising, as we were uncertain if we’d ever get any more dance floor crushers from Jesse F. Keeler of Death from Above 1979 and Girlsareshort’s Alex Puodziukas. But not only does the duo return to the mix with an added batch of pulsating sounds, but the special guests on the record elevate the game entirely.
A while back, we were treated to the Operator single “Party Line”, which featured vocals from Ian Svenonius (Nation of Ulysses, the Make-Up, Chain and the Gang). With the release today of the new LP, another track with a special guest has surfaced online, and it’s none other than Converge’s Jacob Bannon leading the menacing, mechanical assault of “Go On Without Me”.
It fucking crushes.
J. Bannon contributed guest vocals and lyrics to a song on the new MSTRKRFT album “Operator”, in stores today…. https://t.co/duH2oMluuI
