With the release of excellent new album Revival, Boston rock and roll sludgers Gozu have had a pretty good first half of 2016. The rest of the year looks just as loud, as this morning the band announced they’re following up an August appearance at Psycho Las Vegas with an 18-date fall European tour. The run begins September 28 in Rome and concludes October 15 in Switzerland, and throughout the run, Gozu will be on the road with Portland, Oregon doom rock dudes Holy Grove.
“When Belinda Carlisle said ‘heaven is a place on earth’, she was talking about the tour with Gozu and Holy Grove,” Gozu frontman Marc Gaffney tells Vanyaland in a statement he probably didn’t think we’d run. “I can already feel it in my plums, so sweet and juicy, let’s do it.”
Adds guitarist Doug Sherman: “So excited to get back to Europe promoting our new album with the amazing Holy Grove! I’ve even brushed up on my Italian — ‘Il mio hovercraft è pieno di anguille’, which translates to ‘My hovercraft is full of eels'”.
