This Fourth of July, there will be a flurry of musical fireworks raining down on Dusk in Providence. It's the second annual Revival Fest and it'll be taking over two stages featuring a bunch of the best local acts in The Creative Capital, as well as a few others from out of town. Along with a stellar array of live music, the all-day festival will also have delicious grub courtesy of Julians and the beer junkies at Revival Brewing Company sponsoring the whole thing. There's no need to worry about a cover because admission to this crazy event is absolutely free. What better way to celebrate our country's independence than with drinks, food and rock & roll?
"I call it organic and organized chaos with the best local bands agreeing to play on the 4th to rock our pants off," says Dusk owner Rick Sunderland. "I'm so excited for this year's line up, I'm also excited to have Julians back and to also to have Revival Brewing, specifically master brewer Sean Larkin, sharing their great products with all of us along with calling this Revival Fest, so it has become Dusk's own thing. I also have to thank Narragansett Beer for always kicking in as well."
Chaos would be one way to describe this year's edition of Revival Fest but no matter how you want to look at it there's a raucous party that's going to be happening on 301 Harris Ave this Monday.
The stacked lineup for the extravaganza consists of blues fiends Cannibal Ramblers, local garage rock legends Thee Fabulous Itchies, the infectious noir of Von Donovan, new wave act Beta Motel, grime punks Little Tomb, garage rock sensations Gymshorts, psych-surf badasses Atlantic Thrills, post-punk goths Civility, New Bedford rock and roll gang Bad Motherfucker, caveman pop stars M.O.T.O., fuzz giants Black Oil Incinerator, dream-pop supergroup Hott Boyz, whiskey-rock band The Quahogs, riot punks Pyramid, alternative art enthusiasts Pixels, hair metal maniacs Teazer, Newport surf wizards The Z-Boys, the dark grooves of Tall Teenagers, rock crew Smith & Weeden, doom rock band Bloodpheasant, the freakish World's Greatest Lover and Salt Lake City act Max Pain & The Groovies.
If you're spending time with family or by yourself with a bonfire, stop by Dusk at some point on July 4 for a party like no other. It starts in the afternoon and it goes on until the late night hours so you have plenty of time to make it part of your itinerary.
