As we learned with her 2014 collaboration with Royksopp, Robyn has a true knack for taking great pop songs and elevating them up further. This week, she’s surfaced with English group Metronomy, providing vocals on a bubbly new track called “Hang Me Out To Dry” — no relation to the Cold War Kids number from a while back — and it’s available to hear below via Apple Music.
The song was premiered via Zane Lowe’s latest World Record on the streaming surface, and serves as the latest track from Metronomy’s upcoming album Summer 08, which drops Friday.
“She’s just got this incredible singular voice in pop music,” Metronomy’s Joseph Mount tells Lowe in the premiere below. “And you hear it now everywhere in Lorde and in Taylor Swift songs. She started this thing… she’s everywhere now.”
And especially now that, for the time being, Robyn has entrenched herself in the remix game, it’s great to hear her ethereal voice over a studio track. Listen to “Hang Me Out to Dry” below.
