We’ve been smitten with UK alt-pop singer/producer Shura ever since we saw her at South-By-Southwest early last year. Recently, she made a strong case for Song of the Summer 2016 with the airy, impulsive single “What’s It Gonna Be?”, a track that finally knocked McDonalds’ “Can I Get A McPick 2?” jingle out of our goddamn heads.
We’ve known for a few days now that Shura, born Alexandra Lilah Denton in Manchester, England, was headed across the Atlantic later this year for a full-on tour with Tegan & Sara, and then six dates in October opening for M83. But we here in Boston get an added treat, as the musician has announced a special one-off warm-up date at Great Scott in Allston, and it goes down September 6. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
Check out all her North American dates below, and take note: her new album, Nothing’s Real, is out July 8 via Polydor. It’s going to be huge.
