After canceling last night’s show in New York City due to frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala’s health issues, At The Drive-In have nixed all remaining dates on their North American tour as the singer recovers from a vocal injury.
That includes a show tonight in Boston at the House of Blues.
The band writes this morning:
“Apologies to all our fans who have tickets but following our news earlier tonight, we regret to announce that all further shows on our North American tour, up to and including the Amnesia Festival appearance on June 25th are cancelled. Tickets can be refunded from point of purchase. We will be back to make up these shows in the future. Thank you for your continued support.”
Refunds are available at point of purchase, according to Live Nation. Internet orders will be automatically cancelled and refunded.
At The Drive-In had previously cancelled a June 15 show in Washington, D.C., and a gig last night at Terminal 5 in New York as singer Bixler-Zavala found himself unable to perform.
Last night’s cancellation was made after roughly 3,000 fans filled Terminal 5. Guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and drummer Tony Hajjar took to the stage to announce the news, with Hajjar saying:
“We feel absolutely horrible but we have a goal, our goal is to continue being a band for a very long time. We will be back, and this is really, really hard to do right now. We feel horrible. Obviously we set up, we’re here. We sound-checked, and we couldn’t get to it and it’s not plausible for us to do a show. And this is New York, this means the world to us. Terminal 5 means the world to us.”
Not everyone was pleased with the explanation.
