Openers for Descendents tour announced: Bully, Beach Slang, Fucked Up, and more

UPDATE 9:18 a.m.: Heads up, Boston: Pre-sale for the Royale show begins today at 10 a.m. Code = BOWERYBOSTON

Yesterday it was announced that California punk legends Descendents would follow-up their September appearances at Riot Fest in Denver and Chicago with a coast-to-coast North American tour, which includes an October 6 stop at Royale in Boston. The local date came with news that Beach Slang would providing support, but we didn’t know if the Philly rock band was on board for the entire tour or if this was a special one-off for Massachusetts.

Turns out it’s the latter, but it also turns out the other openers for the Descendents’ full tour are just as impressive. Modern Baseball are on board for two dates (San Francisco and Los Angeles), Fucked Up will play three shows (New York, Philly, and Silver Spring in Maryland), and Bully will close things out with a trio of support slots (twice in Seattle and a tour closer in Portland).

Bonkers.

Descendents are hitting the road in support of new album Hypercaffium Spazzinate, their first in 12 years and first Epitaph release since 1996’s Everything Sucks. It’s due out July 29. The album’s first cut, “Victim Of Me”, is out now, and you can hear it below.

Tickets to all shows go on sale June 17 at 10 a.m. punk-rock local time. Set a reminder or 12.
