End Has No End: The Strokes return with vibrant new track ‘Oblivious’

Hey everyone, the Strokes are back.

The New York City rock band returns this afternoon with their first new song in three years, an upbeat and sunny affair titled “Oblivious.” It’s definitely Strokes-y, and that’s definitely Julian Casablancas, but like your favorite old warm blanket it’s here to shelter you from the world outside.

There’s nice little exploding chorus just as your attention starts to fade.

It’s nice.

“Oblivious” was premiered today on Julian Casablancas’ new SiriusXMU radio show, and will be on the band’s new EP, Future Present Past. The record is out June 3, and according to the NME, will feature three songs (“Oblivious,” “Drag Queen,” and “Threat of Joy”) as well as a Fab Moretti remix of “Oblivious.” Score more info on the release via Cult Records.
