Those finding themselves in Dorchester on Tuesday evenings can stumble into some live music in a previously unlikely space: Tavolo Ristorante.
The eatery, a sister restaurant of Ashmont Grill and owned by executive chef Chris Douglass, is rolling out a Tuesday night music series — and the initial lineup is pretty good, with appearances coming up by Kevin Micka (Animal Hospital, pictured above), Thalia Zedek (Come, Thalia Zedek Band), Joe McMahon (of Mill Pond Falls, whose new single we have in daily “This Is 617” rotation on VanyaRadio), recent Rumble participant Jim Healey (Shatner), Richie Parsons (Unnatural Axe), and others.
The series is curated by Boston music scene veterans Ami Bennitt and Tom Johnston. There’s no cover, and things start at 8 p.m. Some nights, a second set will follow an hour later.
“It started piece meal in March, but last week we announced full line-up for April/May,” Bennett writes.
“It’s a really mellow, enjoyable evening, with a living room concert feel, and great food, in a neighborhood that’s trying to support live music.”
