Earlier today it was revealed that Axl Rose suffered a broken bone in his foot, launching a million tweets about inevitable cancellations and providing some doubt as to if these upcoming Guns N’ Roses shows will actually happen as planned. The band’s people said the shows would go on, and Rose would just be a bit less mobile on stage as his foot heals.
Sounds a lot like Dave Grohl’s broken leg last year, right? Well, Guns N’ Roses are currently playing a gig in Las Vegas, and it looks like Rose is using a throne very similar to Grohl’s. In fact — update! — Rose says it’s the same one, just toned down and without the Foo Fighters’ “FF” logo lit up.
Vanyaland managing editor Michael Christopher is at T-Mobile Arena, and sent back to Vanya HQ these pics of Rose’s new perch.
Says Rose before the band launched into “Rocket Queen”: “I wanna thank Dave Grohl for this, it was very nice of him. I’ve got nothing to do with this.”
This could take some getting used to. We’ll see if Rose is still hobbled when Guns play Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on July 19, part of their summer-long Not In This Lifetime tour.
