Señores y señoras — Jane’s Addiction are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Ritual de lo Habitual with a six-date summer tour. And they are bringing Dinosaur Jr. and Living Colour along for the ride.
The tour will serve as a warmup for the band’s appearance this summer at Lollapalooza, which was launched by frontman Perry Farrell a year after Ritual de lo Habitual’s release in 1990. Dubbed “The Sterling Spoon Anniversary Tour”, the tour — which feels very old-school Lollapalooza-esque, though on a much smaller scale — kicks off at the Coney Island Amphitheater in Brooklyn on July 15 and comes to Boston’s Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on July 19 (same night as Guns N’ Roses at Gillette). Tickets go on sale April 15 via Ticketmaster.
As Rolling Stone notes, Jane’s will perform songs from their entire catalogue, with a special focus each night on Ritual. Lollapalooza goes down July 28 to July 31, and features performances by Jane’s Addiction, Radiohead, Haim, M83, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disclosure, LCD Soundsystem, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, and more.
