Bent Shapes have given Boston so much aural joy over the years, dating back to the days when they were called Girlfriends. But wicked sharp jangly garage-pop and devastatingly poignant lyricism from Sir Ben Potrykus isn’t enough to book its own tour these days, so the band is asking for help rounding out their upcoming spring jaunt to the West Coast and back. The tour gets a test drive with their Wolves Of Want record release party this Thursday at Great Scott in Allston.
The new album is out Friday via Slumberland Records, and you can stream the whole thing in advance over at Noisey. In the meantime, check out recent single “What We Do Is Public” via Soundcloud (or hear lead track “New Starts In Old Dominion” this afternoon on VanyaRadio, since we play it pretty much every day at this point) and scan their tour itinerary to see where you can chip in and help.
