Anthony Gonzalez’ electronic pop project M83 is seeking a female singer/keyboardist to join the band for its 2016 live dates.
Posting on ilovem83.com, Gonzalez outlined the requirements for the gig, which include full availability from March to December, a proper passport necessary for travel, and a clean background (can’t be getting held up at the border). Oh, and being a skilled musician certainly helps, too.
With a new album expected later this year, M83 has a busy touring schedule that takes the band on a spring tour of North America (though no Boston date) and, as of press time, across seven European festival appearances during the summer. Gonzalez’ request for availability through December suggests more dates are on the way.
And whoever gets the job, replacing former member Morgan Kibby, could be in store for a long-term role.
“Back in 2011 I opened up the search for a musician to join the M83 tour,” Gonzalez writes. “That turned out to be Jordan Lawlor who played with us all over the world and is still in the band! This time I am looking for a female singer who can also play keyboard to join us. – You must be available to join M83 rehearsals in Los Angeles in March
– You must be available to travel and work between April 2016 and December 2016
– You must own a valid passport for the next 2 years
– You must have no criminal history that may cause you to be denied entry to another country
