There’s been a steady diet of Deftones news to start the year. And now, after the band has revealed a string of live dates around the world and confirmed their new album, Gore, will be out April 8, we have a tiny bit of new music. Allegedly.
A short teaser clip, with a 30-second snippet of a song believed to be called “Prayers/Triangles”, has been making the online rounds, and you can listen to it (over and over) below.
Out on Warner Bros., Gore is Deftones’ eighth studio record, and first since 2012’s Koi No Yakan. It was produced by Matt Hyde and includes a guest appearance by Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell.
To hype the new LP, Deftones will be all over the place in 2016, including a month-long March residency in Texas, an appearance at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Music Festival, and a bunch of European dates in June. Let’s hope Boston is added soon.
