Back in the late ’80s, Sting and Peter Gabriel toured together for Amnesty International, and now the two English pop-rock titans are joining forces for this summer’s Rock Paper Scissors tour. The 19-date cross-country trek plays a bunch of arenas and outdoor theaters, and crashes Worcester’s DCU Center on July 2. Tickets go on sale February 1 at 10 a.m.
Sting and Gabriel promise not only a bunch of duets, but a fair selection of the hits, as well. It’s what the people want.
“People wanna hear hits,” Sting says. “I’ve never shied away from playing hits, I think it’s fun; there’s always something new to find in a song you may have been singing for 35 years.” Adds Gabriel with a laugh: “It’s a long song.”
