The summer of 1997 saw Oasis at their most egotistically brazen, set to release their third album Be Here Now. It’s no surprise then the brothers Gallagher would choose the most anthemic Bowie song to “Heroes” to include as a b-side to the album’s four-track single “D’ya Know What I Mean?” And while this is the most covered song in Bowie’s catalog, the vocals by Noel Gallagher do manage to soar in earnestness.
