4. Royal Blood, “Out of the Black” [Warner Bros. Records]
Perhaps the funnest video on this list, this excessively violent video done for the English two piece by the creators of the Adult Swim series Superjail! has the best blend of live-action and animation that I’ve seen since Gene Kelly danced with Jerry mouse. The kinetic, crazy violence of the animation goes great with the heavy riffs and reminds one of the lunacy of artists like John K. and Tex Avery. If you’ve ever wanted to fuck up the Easter Bunny, this might be for you.
