Kendrick Lamar ran the game in 2015, and while most have tapped fellow To Pimp A Butterfly single/video “Alright” as his defining song of the year, it’s “King Kunta” that takes this top spot. The Los Angeles rapper spins intense bars over a James Brown funk beat, with a rhythm that can spin indefinitely without fail, and all year long we kept asking “What’s the yams?” Everyone is gonna be Alright, indeed.
