Another piece of nightlife history is up for sale.
Veteran UK DJ/producer Buckley Boland, a former resident at the legendary Haçienda in Manchester, has offered up his personal record collection. The 8,000-piece vinyl lot, which you can see in all its glory up top and below, is available for the right price.
According to a Facebook post last week, Buckley himself might not even know the price, but he’s willing to listen to offers. And he was inspired to rid himself of the discs after fellow Haçienda DJ Dave Haslam made news recently by selling his own collection, 4,000 records in all, to American house DJ Seth Troxler.
Buckley writes: “ok i see hacienda dj dave haslam as sold his record collection to Seth Troxler and its got my thinking?? i have around 8.000 that im thinking of selling …anyone who knows me knows that all the killers from late 80’s to around 2007 are in there before i made the switch to digital………… serious offers??”
Buckley is a familiar name in Madchester lore, and according to the Vinyl Factory, and played alongside Inner City, Ten City and M People while becoming known of the past decade for his weekly sets at Back to Basics in Leeds and Bristol’s Just Jack.
Credited with the rise of acid house and rave, the Haçienda nightclub closed in 1997.
