Rhythm Sedation: Janet Jackson postpones tour dates as docs recommend vocal rest

Janet Jackson’s huge 2015 comeback has hit a temporary snag.

The pop singer, on tour to support new album Unbreakable, this morning has postponed two additional upcoming shows this week, in Kansas City tomorrow and St. Louis on Thursday. That brings the number of postponed shows to four so far, as last week, Jackson nixed appearances in Salt Lake City and Denver. She plans a return to the stage this Friday in Omaha… for now.

“Hey you guys, I must rest my vocal chords,” she tweeted. “Doctor’s orders.”

All shows are expected to have make-up dates.

And the rest now should give Ms. Jackson plenty of time before she heads into New England territory in 2016. She performs at the TD Garden in Boston on February 26 and Hartford’s XL Center on February 27, then returns to the area June 21 (in Manchester, NH) and 22 (Providence, RI).
