We’re still making amends with the Dirty Nil.
A year-and-a-half ago the Ontario rock dudes were on the bill of that Tasty Burger shitshow party in Harvard Square, and never got to play. They’ve been in town a few times since, but hey, we are still riddled with guilt. Luckily, the band constantly provides reasons to love them: Last summer it was their pissed off alt-rock anthem “Cinnamon”, and today it’s their cover of Fugazi’s “Provisional”, which you can hear below.
The cover comes just in time, as the Dirty Nil are headed back to Dirty Boston this Sunday for a fan-fucking-fabulous rock and roll show at Great Scott in Allston with beloved Chicago trio Meat Wave. Boston’s Animal Flag rounds out the lineup.
The Meat Wave + Dirty Nil pairing kicked off in Detroit last night, and hits 11 cities total before wrapping up in Atlanta on October 28. From there, the Dirty Nil stay out on the road, and you can check their latest run of dates after the “Provisional” jump.
“Provisional” is featured on the b-side of their new 7-inch, “No Weaknesses,” which dropped last week Dine Alone Records. The Dirty Nil’s first full-length album is due early next year. This is a nice table setter.
