Canadian electronic music duo Purity Ring have released a new video today for recent single “Begin Again,” and it’s not only seasonally appropriate, but also creepy as hell. The Another Eternity track’s video is teased by the band as “an eerie period piece and it’s in a castle,” but the full thing is so much more than that.
Directed by Young Replicant, the video explores “the song’s themes of renewal and rebirth” and stars a young dead woman who is dug up from her makeshift grave and brought back to life before a ceremonial religious dinner in order to kill an older woman. We need to watch it a million more times to describe it any better, but it’s perfect for Halloween season and can be viewed as a distant cousin companion piece to the early previews of upcoming horror flick The Witch.
