And now, for Converse’s latest stroke of free outdoor show awesomeness: Deer Tick and These Wild Plains.
The two New England bands will perform live at Converse’s Lovejoy Wharf in Boston on Wednesday, September 23. We’ll post more information as it becomes available… but, huh, what else do you need? You should go, and no RSVP is required.
Previous free outdoor shows at the Converse HQ have featured Lower Dens with Hop Along, and Caveman with Eternals.
Meanwhile, Converse’s Rubber Tracks program is currently in the middle of an 84-band Global Studio Takeover, where musicians repping 30 countries record under its various facilities and iconic locations around the world. The sessions are taking place at Converse’s Rubber Tracks studios here in Boston, New York, and Brazil, as well as Abbey Road in England, Germany’s Hansa Tonstudio, and Atlanta’s Stankonia.
On the local front, three bands and artists have been selected: hard rock dudes Worshipper, instrumental post-rock band Sparhawks, and Nashua-based beats and hip-hop producer Aziz The Shake will all record in Boston at Converse’s Lovejoy Wharf headquarters. Providence’s DAP, meanwhile, will head across the Atlantic to Abbey Road. Coming over to Boston to record here are Nashville rock band Howling Giant, Brazil’s Frida, and Diamond Thug out of South Africa.
